Heike Rabus travels to Namataba regularly during the summer holidays, and small groups or individuals are welcome to join her to get to know—and grow to love—the project, the children, and the country.

Where will visitors stay?
Accommodation for visitors is arranged in cooperation with the African Village Hotel, which offers comfortable and secure lodging. Additional accommodation options in the area can also be recommended based on individual preferences and budget.
How do visitors get around?
Transportation to Namataba is organized in close coordination with the local team. Travel can be arranged through the African Village Hotel or via public transportation such as taxis, depending on the visitor’s schedule and needs.
Is there a travel guide provided?
Trips are generally organized independently, with helpful recommendations provided. For larger groups, a travel guide can be arranged. For individual travelers, the availability of a guide depends on the travel period and is coordinated in advance.
Can visitors spend time with their sponsored child?
Yes, visitors are welcome to spend time with their sponsored child. We recommend informing us in advance to ensure that time and space can be set aside for the visit.
What roles can visitors take on during their stay in Namataba?
Visitor tasks cannot be planned in detail ahead of time, as they depend on the current needs on site. However, the interests and preferences of visitors are taken into account, and roles are assigned flexibly—whether in the school, on the farm, or in other areas of the project.
Is it possible to go on a safari?
Yes, a safari can be arranged during your stay in Uganda. It must be organized independently with a reliable local guide or contact. A safari is a fantastic way to experience the country and its incredible wildlife more fully.
