Namataba

The Land

Uganda—a peaceful and calm country—impressed us from the very beginning. It all started in June 2017 with the purchase of a small woodland, and since then, we’ve added another hectare with fish ponds and grassland.

Namataba is located in a quiet, rural region about 63 kilometers—or roughly a 1.5-hour drive—from Kampala, the capital of Uganda. The nearby town of Mukono is home to around 54,000 people.
Thanks to this rural setting, we’ve been able to steadily expand our land. What began as a small patch of woodland has since grown into a flourishing oasis—home to the school, the farm, and many future projects such as a boarding facility, farm expansion, a football field, and more.
The land is rich in water and is already proving to be a blessing for the surrounding community.

Involving the Local Community

A key part of our project is involving the local population. We employ local craftsmen—such as carpenters and tailors—for furniture and uniforms, as well as workers for construction projects and material deliveries. The school is also staffed entirely by locals, including cooks, bus drivers, teachers, security staff, and cleaners. In doing so, we strengthen the local economy. This close collaboration fosters community spirit and offers sustainable opportunities for the people on the ground.
